Robert Half is searching for an accomplished Senior Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity in the Healthcare/NHS industry. Operating as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Key responsibilities

- Complete other projects as required

- Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

- Put together Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Review financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)

- Bring a daily dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Take part in various department-wide initiatives

- Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

- Coordinate quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

Requirements

- Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience

- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

- Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired

- ERP system experience

- Foundational knowledge in financial reporting

- Strong familiarity with general ledger

- Solid understanding of Financial Statement

- Expertise in variance analysis

- This position is suitable for candidates that are proficient in financial reporting systems

- Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

- SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Ability to work well with functional department managers
