Robert Half is currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team in the Healthcare/NHS industry for a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day

- Ready monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Put together Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Constantly improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

- Other projects as necessary

- Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

- Coordinate quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Analyze financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)

- Achieve compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners

Requirements

- Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with functional department managers

- Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired

- Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

- Efficient in ERP systems

- Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

- If you can demonstrate proficiency in financial reporting systems, you might be the right person for this position

- Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

- Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience

- Command of general ledger

- Strong familiarity with financial reporting

- Solid understanding of month end closings
