Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Patient Account Associate in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will be involved in various tasks within the healthcare industry, focusing on patient account management and medical billing.
Responsibilities: • Communicating effectively with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers to gather and record necessary information for reimbursement. • Collaborating with other departments for charge information, coding updates, and other relevant details for claim appeals. • Executing billing and collection processes, and preparing them for distribution to the appropriate sources. • Reviewing unpaid claims and obtaining necessary information to resolve reimbursements. • Monitoring patient accounts, taking necessary actions for overdue and denied claims. • Calculating write-offs and making debit/credit adjustments as needed. • Providing general office support as required. • Ensuring quality performance and productivity are met or exceeded. • Applying developing and basic working knowledge and experience to job-related duties. • Keeping up-to-date with vaccination requirements and medical coverage procedures.
Requirements • Proficiency in various medical procedures and quality assurance measures • Extensive knowledge about medical coverage and billing systems • Familiarity with collection processes and claim administration • Ability to handle credit and debit transactions efficiently • Proven track record in improving productivity in a medical setting • Expertise in medical coding and making necessary adjustments • Experience in handling reimbursements, appeals, and medical billing • Understands the nuances of patient account management • Ability to interact effectively with payers and government agencies & programs • Knowledge about vaccines and the ability to manage vaccinations effectively • Ability to handle write offs and precedents appropriately • Familiarity with corporate headquarters' operations • Experience dealing with third party payer systems • Knowledge about specific medical conditions such as mumps is beneficial.
