We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in building, optimizing, and scaling our data systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data integration, database technologies, and programming, with experience working in fast-paced environments. Prior experience with healthcare or insurance data is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Data Integration & Transformation: Define and extract data from multiple sources, integrate disparate datasets into a unified data model, and load them into target systems or applications using efficient programming methods.
• System Development: Design, document, and test scalable data systems that enable data scientists and other users to extract insights effectively.
• Pipeline Development: Build and maintain robust data pipelines for ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and validation, ensuring reliable delivery of prepared datasets.
• Code Development: Write, test, and refine code to ensure optimal performance and reliability of data extraction and processing workflows.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve data quality issues, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
• Optimization & Maintenance: Develop scripts to monitor, maintain, and optimize database processes, including performance tuning.
• Documentation & Testing: Create detailed documentation and perform rigorous validation to ensure data accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in data integration, data warehousing, or big data platforms.
• In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in ETL technologies and languages (e.g., Ab Initio, DataStage, Informatica, Python, R).
• Advanced SQL knowledge with experience in database systems such as Snowflake, DB2, and AWS.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data lakes, and operational data stores.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry Knowledge: Experience in healthcare or insurance, including familiarity with related data standards and regulations.
• Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business partners to deliver solutions.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrated experience analyzing and optimizing databases to improve performance and scalability.

One year contract
