Description

We are in search of a Tax Preparer who will be an integral part of our team. The role involves working in the industry of corporate taxation and is based out of Pacifica, California, but is 100% remote. The Tax Preparer will be tasked with handling client accounts, processing tax returns, and offering in-depth tax advice. You will work 5-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently prepare both individual and corporate tax returns

• Handle a book of business, ensuring the maintenance and improvement of client relationships

• Thoroughly review income statements and expense documentation to determine correct tax treatment

• Stay updated on tax code amendments and new tax laws, applying this knowledge to work

• Ensure all clients adhere to tax laws and regulations through thorough analysis

• Offer strategic advice to clients on tax savings and potential tax challenges

• Communicate with governmental tax offices as necessary on behalf of clients

• Utilize tax software programs, such as CCH ProSystem Fx and Drake Tax Software, for efficient tax preparation and management.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of three years of experience in a Tax Preparer role or similar position.
• Proficient in the use of CCH ProSystem Fx and Drake Tax Software.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing corporate tax returns.
• Ability to stay updated with current tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus.
