Description

We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounts Payable Specialist in Birmingham, Alabama. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the company's accounts payable to ensure accurate record keeping and timely payment processing. This includes receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling all invoices in an efficient and accurate manner. This Accounts Payable Specialist position is a HYBRID position that will require at least one day per week required on site at their Birmingham office.

Responsibilities:

• Process payments and adhering to AP policies and procedures.

• Troubleshooting and resolving accounting discrepancies

• Ensuring all accounts are reconciled according to established internal control guidelines.

• Ensuring accurate and timely payments

• Processing all Accounts Payable invoices for submission.

• Providing necessary training to agency personnel on proper accounting procedures.

• Ensuring the month-end close

• Submitting all vendor payables to Accounts Payable for processing.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations and management
• Demonstrated ability in Batch Processing and Batching
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel is required
• Experience in Bank Account Reconciliation
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
