If you are a charismatic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist, you might be interested in this job at one of Robert Half's clients. As the Medical Receptionist you'll be the director of first impressions, providing customer service over the phone and in-person. This Medical Receptionist position requires a self-starter who finds value working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while providing support and solutions to patients, healthcare professionals, insurance providers, etc. This short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Rockville, Maryland area.

What you get to do every single day

- Making appointments, collecting co-pays, and providing receipt of money in accordance with established procedures

- Being helpful to patients filling out forms

- Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean; reporting on any damage

- Providing support in the management of patient medical records

- Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner

- Delegating various files and providing general office duties, e.g. data entry, faxing, scanning, etc.

- Admitting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries

- Responsible for insurance verifications with health insurance organizations

- Efficiently corresponding to telephone calls and directing inquiries in a detail-oriented and effective manner

Requirements

- Prior experience with multi-line phone systems preferred

- Well-founded grasp of Patients Appointments

- General familiarity with Register Patients

- Strong familiarity with Assist Patients

- Contacting Patients experience preferred

- Direct Patients experience

- Assist Patients experience

- Practical knowledge of Electronic Medical Record

- Proven knowledge of Directs Patients

- Command of Check Patients

- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Receptionist

- High School Diploma required, A.S. Degree in healthcare/related field preferred

- You will be a top applicant if you have experience with insurance billing and an electronic medical record system, as well as social media platforms

- General understanding of medical terminology

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

- Incoming phone call management skills desired
