Robert Half has an outstanding opportunity for a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join the team at a premier company. Serving as the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will match, batch, and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. If you are a collaborative team member with a positive attitude and effective communication skills, then this role is for you. Located in Washington, District of Columbia, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary opening.

Major responsibilities

- Help with internal and external audits as required

- Produce full-cycle A/P

- Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

- Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

- Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

- Complete special projects on an as-needed basis

- Provide support to internal business partners

- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

Requirements

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

- 1+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

- Coding Invoices experience preferred

- Practical knowledge of QuickBooks

- General familiarity with Oracle

- Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Data entry experience highly desired

- Account reconciliation experience desired

- Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

- Proven knowledge of Invoice Processing

- Quality experience with SAP

- Proficiency in Check Runs

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
