Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves working on-site to support existing staff with maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring proper reporting, and improving the overall accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using QuickBooks and experience with receivables financing or factoring.

Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance to existing staff on proper bookkeeping practices to ensure accurate financial records.
• Utilize QuickBooks to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Assist in generating accurate financial reports promptly.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure balance sheet accuracy.
• Conduct bank reconciliation tasks to maintain consistent financial records.
• Offer expertise in receivables financing or factoring processes.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting procedures to enhance reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members to support financial audits and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Corporate Accountant or similar role.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting tools.
• Strong knowledge of month-end closing, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Ability to perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations with precision.
• Familiarity with receivables financing or factoring processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication abilities to train and support team members.
• Availability to work on-site in Washington, District of Columbia.
