Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for our retail team in Bellingham, Washington. This role is central to our financial operations and requires hands-on experience with financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial health and success of our organization.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain financial statements to track the company's financial health
• Prepare and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts
• Oversee general ledger accounting activities to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations regularly
• Prepare and post daily journal entries
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Close financial books on a monthly basis
• Utilize SAP for various accounting tasks
• Prepare and present financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting reports.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Capability to handle Bank Reconciliations effectively
• Strong knowledge and experience with General Ledger
• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proven experience in Month End Close processes
• Familiarity with SAP software
• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements
• Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
• Retail industry experience is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
