Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is integral to our team, where you will be tasked with managing customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving customer inquiries. The selected candidate will be expected to work a hybrid work schedule and provide support to both internal and external customers, primarily through inbound calls and email correspondence.
Responsibilities include: • Processing customer credit applications in an accurate and efficient manner • Maintaining up-to-date and precise customer credit records • Resolving customer credit inquiries and issues • Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect overdue payments • Providing high-level customer service support, handling inbound calls, and answering questions about payments • Managing payments over the phone and addressing billing and payment questions via email • Utilizing Microsoft Outlook and Excel for communication and data management • Conducting bank and cash reconciliations • Adapting to remote work environment and procedures • Ensuring all actions are in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) management • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel • Capable of handling Email Correspondence in a professional manner • Excellent Customer Service skills • Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations • Familiarity with Cash Reconciliations • Ability to work in a team and independently • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field would be advantageous • Prior experience in a similar role would be beneficial • Familiarity with accounting software and systems • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
