Description

The Senior Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the transformation and maintenance of our digital portal development in close collaboration with the Product Manager. The primary objective of this position is to elevate and optimize our products, ensuring they deliver superior, user-friendly experiences for our key stakeholders. This initiative is central to our Connectivity platform, reinforcing our technological prowess and organizational efficiency. Additionally, this role will spearhead a dynamic team of engineers tasked with architecting cutting-edge services tailored to the demands of the online travel industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning:

Support VP, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Development to strategize the development tactics for our portal products.
Develop annual and quarterly working plans for the engineering team, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities.
Resourcing and Delivery:

Identify key resources required to collaborate effectively with product teams and stakeholders, leveraging Agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery of product features.
Uphold technical, quality, and security standards, guiding the engineering team through technical design, code review, unit testing, and automation testing.
Lead the team in developing and optimizing core technical components, addressing emergency issues promptly.
Monitor team-level key metric achievements and progress.
Review and Evaluation:

Oversee the engineering team, including recruitment, training, and mentorship, fostering collaboration and goal attainment.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and tailored development plans to drive continuous improvement.
Provide necessary coaching and support to ensure team success.
Report on team performance against plans and progress to departmental management.
Technology Trends Monitoring:

Stay updated on technological advancements, ensuring the team remains at the forefront by adopting the latest technologies and best practices.
Cross-team Collaboration:

Build strong partnerships with other teams, including product management, customer support, and client managers, to align technology initiatives with overall business objectives.
Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or above in software engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 7 years of Java development experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proficient in Mandarin.
Strong technical proficiency in:
Spring / Spring Boot / Spring Cloud, Mybatis, Hibernate, JPA, and other relevant open-source frameworks.
Agile methodologies.
Front-end development technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, ReactJS, Node.js, and NPM.
Code version management tools like Git or SVN.
Unit testing frameworks like JUnit / Easy Mock / Spockframework.
Code build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
