Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Software Engineer in Daniels, Maryland, 21043, United States. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions. You will also maintain and improve existing systems, troubleshoot software issues, and collaborate with other team members to optimize software performance.
Responsibilities: • Develop and implement new software programs, using languages such as C++ and ASP.NET • Maintain and improve existing software systems • Collaborate with the team to design software system architecture • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues • Optimize software performance using AB testing and other methods • Work with Apache Struts, Hibernate ORM, and other tools to build software • Use RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka for message-broker services • Develop restful APIs for various applications • Utilize Spring Boot/Spring JPA for creating stand-alone, production-grade Spring-based applications • Work with Kubernetes for automating application deployment, scaling, and management • Use AJAX for creating asynchronous web applications • Develop and manage databases for software applications • Utilize EO/IR systems for environmental observations and remote sensing.
Requirements • Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of experience working as a Software Engineer or in a similar role. • Proficiency in Apache Struts, C++, and Database is mandatory. • Familiarity with EO/IR systems is required. • Experience with Hibernate ORM and AB Testing is essential. • Knowledge of Ajax, API Development, and ASP.NET is crucial. • Proficiency in CSS is necessary. • Experience with RabbitMQ, Springbrook, and Spring Boot is a requirement. • Familiarity with JPA, Kubernetes, and Apache Kafka is important. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary. • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. • Applicants must have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus. • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of software development principles.
