Description

If you're looking for work as a Payroll Administrator, Robert Half is seeking candidates who can process payroll and who have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. This Payroll Administrator opportunity is located in West Springfield, Massachusetts and is a long-term contract / temporary role.


What you get to do every single day


- Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data


- Reviewing and verifying source documents


- Help payroll manage all internal and external audits


- Manage other tasks as assigned


- Handle all payroll information questions and requests


- Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages


- Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary


- Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads


- Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities


- Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential


- Guarantee company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines


- Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records


- Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments


- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information


Requirements

- Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

- General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred

- Certified Payroll Professional designation favored

- Expertise with internal controls

- Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

- System Upgrades experience highly desired

- Solid understanding of customer service

- Adeptness in About Time

- Earlier work involving Company Policy

- Expertise in Production Support

- Kronos experience preferred

- Demonstrated knowledge of Implement Strategies

- Proficiency in Policy

- Experience with workday

- Background working with Communication Skills

- General familiarity with Leadership Skills

- Practical knowledge of Spreadsheets

- Foundational knowledge in Personnel Policies

- Previous experience working with HealthCare.gov

- Proficiency experience highly valued

- Reporting experience required

- Prior experience with Legislation

- Good understanding of configuration management

- Deep understanding of Federal Guidelines

- Database experience

- Comprehension of HRIS System

- Hands-on experience with A Plus

- Develop Solutions experience desired

- Payroll experience

- Payroll Functions experience highly preferred

- Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

- Prior experience working with accounting software

- Relevant experience should include 2+ years in payroll

- Excellent data entry skills
