Mailroom Assistant

Description

We are seeking a San Mateo, California Mailroom Assistant for a new role via Robert Half. This position will also be responsible for managing and maintaining physical and digital mail-sorting systems. The Mailroom Assistant chosen for this thriving company will be receiving and sorting mail and packages in a centralized room before distributing the items to appropriate departments and individuals. This short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the San Mateo, California area. Apply as soon as possible!

What you get to do every day

- Receive and sort all incoming mail and packages from various carriers

- Stop assembly errors by maintaining an organized work station

- Maintain optimal machine performance by troubleshooting simple problems (clearing jams, refilling toner, replacing machine oil, etc.)

- Regain data within allotted time frames

- Acquire high volume of letters, memoranda, invoices, and other indexed documents within specified guidelines

- Employ clerical tasks like word processing, filing, scanning, archiving, and faxing

- Advise employees complete diverse projects as necessary

- Register, pack, and/or distribute mail and packages

- Comfortable using mail processing equipment


Requirements

- Skilled in handling office equipment

- A minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent

- Deliver general clerical operations tasks that are routine and/or repetitive in nature

- Adept in mail processing at organizational level

- 1+ years of prior experience working in a high-volume mailroom setting

- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

- Able to manage time well

- If you are flexible and focused, you can succeed in this position

- Command of Maintain Office Supplies

- Daily Mail experience
