Robert Half is seeking candidates to join a fast-growing, dynamic team, for a Financial Analyst position that will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This Financial Analyst role is based in the Palo Alto, California, area and is a short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity. If you want to conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans, this Financial Analyst position may be right for you. You will also be expected to advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management.

Major responsibilities

- Function next to senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

- Assemble and overview forecasting reports

- Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

- Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

- Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans

- Review annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations

- Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

- Flexible individual that feels comfortable operating under high expectations while dealing with a large amount of information- Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

- Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process by working with Accounting

- Inspect performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

Requirements

- Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

- Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferential)

- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel

- Online Payments experience

- Proven knowledge of Data Analysis

- Payments Reconciliation experience

- Strong familiarity with Payments Industry

- Account analysis experience required

- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system

- Sound written and verbal communication skills
