If you're looking to further your career in accounting and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half has a terrific long-term contract / temporary Staff Accountant position available for you to check out. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.

What you get to do every single day

- Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

- Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

- Partake in annual closing processes

- Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Requirements

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Knowledgeable of ERP systems

- Bank reconciliations experience

- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- General familiarity with Sales Tax

- Good understanding of journal entries

- Solid understanding of general ledger

- Wide ranging experience with Corporate Treasury

- Practical knowledge of Monthly Sales Tax

- Earlier work involving Month-end Close Activities
