Robert Half is seeking skilled candidates for a Financial Analyst position at a thriving company in the High Tech - Pharm/Biotech industry. Are you looking for work as a Financial Analyst? In this position, you would have the opportunity to become a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. The strongest candidates for this position will be comfortable with conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. This position's duties will also include advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management. This Financial Analyst role, which is a short-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity, is based in the Redwood City, California, area.

Responsibilities

- Own monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

- Individual that enjoys a flexible work environment, experienced in handling vast amounts of information and managing expectations

- Understand and communicate internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

- Maintain weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

- Participate in planning with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

- Inspect performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

- Analyze annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations and supply information to business partners to inform decision making

- Gather and oversee forecasting reports

- Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans

- Work with the Accounting group to lead the monthly and quarterly close process

- Create effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and recommendation support

Requirements

- Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics experience

- General ledger experience

- Microsoft Excel experience desired

- Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)

- Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience suggested

- Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity

- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
