As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Major responsibilities

- Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

- Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

- Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

- Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

- Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Requirements

- Less than one year of experience preferred

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

- Detailed and have the ability work independently

- Tax Preparer experience

- Expertise in Lacerte Tax Software

- Proficiency in account reconciliation

- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Efficient in ERP systems

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
