Description

The Application Architect organizes the lifecycle of new development on future and existing products. In this role, you will be reviewing product requirements, designing product architecture, and managing daily product development efforts. You will be responsible for managing complex interactions between business processes and technologies as well as translating product specifications into production level applications.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Set and grow development standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.

- Support developers in a technical and non-technical capacity- Support code development for web-based n-tier applications.

- Help with writing the technical section of functional specifications for new product development.

- Control the timeline for product development.

- Lead code reviews, calling out best practices and steps for increased stability and capability.

- Create and sustain technical architecture standards and develop cross-product frameworks and best practices.

- Complete other related duties as assigned by management.

- Help team members so that they grow abilities and strengthen capabilities.

- Oversee the deployment of alpha and beta releases during the stabilization of new product development.

- Assist in product release planning and helps assess feature viability/effort.

- Invent and document solutions to product specifications for shared capabilities throughout the architecture.

- Work with the product team to understand requirements and create functionality specifications.


Requirements

- Excellent understanding of database design.

- 10+ years of experience in application development, software design, and architecture.

- 5+ years of experience in team management in a related field.

- Capable of learning new technologies related to the Web and application development.

- Skilled in oral and written communication, including presentation experience.

- Experience with creating, debugging, securing, testing, and optimizing code for multiple web-based applications and services.

- Vow to meet business deadlines

- Ability to evaluate an existing architecture and document issues and suggested improvements.

- Experience in a consulting environment with business analysis, data management, system architecture, and distributed technologies.

- Ability to work independently and lead small teams.

- BA/BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science.

- Development of realistic plans, goals, and aligning plans with company goals, managing resources, and creating contingency plans.

- Familiarity with common software development languages is preferred.

- Capable of decomposing and prioritizing components of large systems.

- Skilled in threading, asynchronous event handling, data binding, scripting and query languages/tools.
